Since its construction in the early 1900s, the Casino in San Pellegrino Terme, Bergamo, was “the destination of Italian and foreign professional associations’ study trips: engineers and architects, as well as doctors and journalists – all the categories that were directly interested in its design, functional, and technical features.” That is the beginning of Marica.
The Casino Municipale of San Pellegrino Terme is a magnificent example of Art Nouveau. Located at the beginning of the twentieth century and will open in July 1907. Of particular interest are the two tall towers on the façade recalling the previous Monte-Carlo Casino by Charles Garnier, the holder and pennant wrought iron Alessandro Mazzucotelli, at the base painted kites like butterflies symbolize the 'art nouveau'. Important artists collaborated in the realization of this work are the frescoes Malerba, pads Bernasconi, sculture del Vedani, beautiful stained glass windows of Beltrami and Buffa, furniture all designed by Eugene Quarter.

San Pellegrino Terme (Bergamasque: San Pelegrì) is a comune in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. Located in the Val Brembana, it is the home of the beverage company San Pellegrino, where its carbonated mineral water drinks are produced.
The town is home to several Art Nouveau edifices from the early 20th century, including the Casinò, the Grand Hotel and the Terme ('Baths').
Leonardo da Vinci visited the source in Lombardy to sample the town's 'miraculous' water.
The 18th stage of the 2011 Giro d'Italia finished in San Pellegrino Terme.[4]
